Didn't bavaria yachts have trouble recently with structural bulkhead failures and dismasting? I thought their rep got a severe dip with shoddy construction quality, so would be curious who would purchase a Bavaria yacht when there are so many superior yachts available for about the same money? : There are the swedish Arcona & Hallberg Rassy, Finish Nautor Swan & Danish x-yachts, French Amel, Contest, RM, J yachts, etc. Even italian beauties like Solaris, Italia Yachts, and Grand Soleil & Slovenian Pegasus are all better! This mix of both aft-cockpit and center-cockpit yachts is just a scratch of many yachts superior to any Bavaria yacht. French yards like Saffier is coming up with a proper bluewater 46', Wauquiez offers more revolutionary boats... Even in terms of heritage- sailimg in oceans or seas is very un-German, so why choose Bavaria??

Saffier looks great and Sunbeam is practical for its purpose! These are awesome boats for people who are honest with themselves- who know that despite their aspirations, they will not be sailing their boats to Antarctica or Patagonia, and will not be signing up for transpac but instead will take it for a spin to islands be it some Ionic Greek islands or Martha's Vineyard- which covers majority of "normal" folks for which these boats would be sufficient, and will work great for suntanning and be very enjoyable for daily sailing in the summer!.. Those who live on their boat and need a safe unsinkable tub even if it bairly moves and has zero sailing engagement need not apply...

The only thing im not a fan of is the high gloss finish on the wood. I preffer a matt finish. I just feel like wood shouldnt be shiney.

Worst yacht walk through I've ever had the misfortune to have seen. If you are into yachts at least open every cupboard/drawer...and if you dont know (🤦) yachts have latches to keep doors/drawers open/closed! Constantly moving environment! (Former yacht chef/sailor). Viewers need to see all of the yacht, nuts and bolts, storage, access to panels for maintenance etc. Don't give up your day job, as your crap at this🤦😡

The music makes this unwatchable.

Beautiful boat, but what a price

This is an actual question - Take the XP-19 shown first, a nice looking little sailer with a "cabin". What if you are out for a sail expected to take several hours and someone needs to urinate? If the crew are all guys, or a nonchalant mix, sure - just let it fly off the stern. But what about female crew? Again, there are surely certain groups that would not care and so long as there is the right safety railing/line at the stern or sides and she can "pop a squat" as it were for overboard relief. Is there anything like a common distinction about when a head is needed on a sailing vessel?

Just another, standard sailing boat. Yes, Elan is known for its relatively higher standards (compared to that of Jan, Ben, Bav), yet what is so "amazing" about this boat? I would say, she is "amazingly" ordinary.
